Simply to live is not evil, but to lead a worthless life is.
- Diogenes
Sean Mabry is a fourth year Literature student in the College of Creative studies. He loves to study media theory, critical theory, and science fiction. He has extensively studied nature poetry, both ancient and modern, and has worked as an editor for Into the Teeth of the Wind, an on-campus poetry magazine. He has written many poems, short stories, and journals both for personal pleasure and for class workshops. Sean is always interested in expanding critical practice beyond the medium of academic essays, and as such he co-hosts a cultural arts program on KCSB called Freak Juice. On Freak Juice, he and his co-host perform close readings of art works across all media, including books, films, music, video games, museums, and more.
Sean also deeply appreciates live theatre. He has performed in many plays himself and, when time permits, loves to attend and study plays of all kinds - anything from Shakespeare to Brecht, even Broadway.
Sean is also a writer for Sex Info Online, a public service website founded and operated by UCSB's own John and Janice Baldwin. He enjoys investigating and drawing attention to issues of sexual justice, and hopes to carry on that campaign throughout his life, whatever form it takes.
