Lucas Sparks

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

Lucas Sparks is a fourth year English major currently attending UCSB.  Lucas is interested in studying what it is that makes stories, and their written iterations known as Literature, so pervasive in human history.  Mankind's desire to share and relate experiences to those around them is astonishing and intriguing.  While not studying Literature, Lucas enjoys both hearing and telling stories of all kinds through any medium imaginable.  Movies, television, video games, art, or even a story shared around the metaphorical campfire is enough to spark (no pun on my last name intended) his interest.  Lucas' long term goals are as varied as the courses he took at UCSB and stretch from teaching to becoming a published author or screenwriter.  While Lucas doesn't currently have any published works, he likes to spend time every day either writing or further developing his many story and poem ideas.
