"I wanna make a jigsaw puzzle that's 40,000 pieces. And when you finish it, it says 'go outside.'" -Demetri Martin

Andrea Liedloff is a senior English major at UC Santa Barbara.  She is currently enrolled in the honors program and she is researching and writing her senior honors thesis entitled "The Comedic Joyce: Penis Jokes, Potty Humor, and Grotesque Realism in Ulysses".  Her thesis encompasses several modernist texts, most notably Joyce's Ulysses, and analyzes the comedic realism present throughout to create the most honest picture of the human. Andrea is also passionately committed to social justice issues, like ending sex trafficking, and is currently the founder and president of the UCSB chapter of International Justice Mission (IJM), a Christian non-profit that seeks to end these sorts of violent oppression.

Apart from those serious, rather heavy things, Andrea enjoys time spent with friends and housemates playing old school Mario Kart 64, flailing her arms to music, and taking deep, meditative walks.  She is a devoted Christian and that is the most central part of her identity.  She is an occasional harmonica player.  She is half Hungarian, which means she thinks bread is the best thing ever.  She is incredibly indecisive and sometimes be awkward. Above all, Andrea's wacky spirit and her vibrant faith lead and guide her to cool and crazy places.  She leads an interesting and exciting life, for which she is abundantly grateful.
