Kiersten Meehan, originally from Northern California, is a fourth-year English major accompanied with a French minor. She is expecting to graduate this June and then plans to continue her studies the following year with a masters program at a university in Europe. Kiersten is also preparing to take the December LSAT in hopes of eventually attending Law School.

 

Kiersten plays on the UCSB Women’s Tennis Team and was named captain this year. She is also the current Female Chair of UCSB’s Student Athlete Advisory Board (SAAB) and a new member of the building committee. Off the court, Kiersten thoroughly enjoys running and has just recently participated in her first half marathon, hoping to one day run a full marathon as well.

 

Kiersten’s favorite movie is a tie between Forest Gump and a French film called The Intouchables (even if you don’t speak French, watch it with subtitles, it’s so great!!). Her favorite sports teams include the SF Giants and the San Jose Sharks.

 

Lastly, Kiersten has been fortunate enough to experience a multitude of different jobs/work settings and although each opportunity has affected her greatly, she feels as though her previous employment at Mouratoglou Tennis Academy has proven to be the most profound thus far. The academy, located twenty minutes outside of Paris, France, is world-reknown and therefore allowed for Kiersten to meet a wide variety of people - overall, an incredible incredible incredible experience.
