If I really considered myself a writer, I wouldn't be writing screenplays. I'd be writing novels.

- Quentin Tarantino

Parker McMillan Lanting, a 4th year at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis on Screenwriting. Originally from West Palm Beach, FL, Lanting moved numerous times in his youth, living everywhere from Los Angeles to Nashville, TN, and back again. Not to mention, a short stint in Washington D.C. His father and younger sister, Madison, reside in El Segundo, CA. The whereabouts of his mother are presently unknown.

Boasting over five years of industry experience, Lanting’s career in film began at an unusually young age. Sneaking onto film sets, falsifying paperwork, and fibbing on the finer details were all in a day’s work for Lanting, a teenager compelled by his adoration of the Silver Screen. Since then, he has had the privilege to work with bands and artists, such as OneRepublic, Bright Eyes, the Cataracts and Will.I.Am. As well as directorial talents, the likes of Perry Andelin Blake (Grown Ups, The Master of Disguise) and Peter Berg (Lone Survivor, Hancock).

Lanting’s 2007 short film, Super, which he wrote, produced and directed, even garnered  international recognition, screening at film festivals across the globe, including Fort Lauderdale International and Videotivoli Finland, where the film closed-out the festival. His influences include Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson and Steve McQueen.
